Legacy of the Arts Policies and Procedures

Registration Confirmation

  • Registration Fee is required for all new incoming students as well as students who may have cancelled their lessons and wish to return.
  • Once a student has filled out a preregistration form, lessons will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.
  • Registration will not be confirmed until the student has been approved and all registration fees and one time deposit has been received.
  • Once registration is confirmed, the student will be notified.
  • Registration Fee is not required for returning students.

One time Deposit

  • A one time Deposit is required before a student can begin their lessons with their assigned instructor.
  • One time Deposit amount will be based off of your instructor’s Tier Level and lesson time, which is listed below:
    • Deposit Amount for Tier Level 1 – 30 min. = $100.00
    • Deposit Amount for Tier Level 2 – 30 min. = $120.00
    • Deposit Amount for Tier Level 1 – 60 min. = $200.00
    • Deposit Amount for Tier Level 2 – 60 min. = $240.00
  • If the student no longer wishes to continue with their lessons, this one time deposit will be refunded, as long as there are no outstanding invoices on file with the accounting department.
  • One time Deposit can be paid by credit card, cash, or check. For details, please see Billing section below.

Billing per Lesson

  • Student lessons will be billed on a per lesson basis.
  • Invoices will be issued to the parent/student every 4 weeks on a per lesson basis.
    • Within this 4 week period the student will be billed for:
      • Lessons scheduled with the instructor, based on instructor’s Tier Level:
        • Tier Level 1 Instructors: $25 per lesson
        • Tier Level 2 Instructors: $30 per lesson
      • Non-Excused absences
    • Upon request, parents can have Invoices emailed to them for convenience.
    • Invoice payment is due: Upon receipt (Please note that you will receive a weekly call or email if payment is not received 30 days from the invoice date.)
  • Invoices & one time Deposit can be paid the following ways:
    • Credit Card (Preferred method of payment)
      • Payment can be made in person to Legacy Coordinator
      • Or you can call the Legacy Line at: 251-652-2300
    • Cash
      • Send cash in a sealed envelope with student to lesson
    • Check
      • Make checks Payable to “LEGACY”
      • Send check in a sealed envelope with student to lesson
      • Or checks can be mailed to “PO Box 305 Saraland, AL 36571”

Attendance

  • It is the responsibility of each student to attend each lesson and to arrive on time. If a student is late, the lesson will not be extended.
  • Student absences will only be excused/not billed for in the case of emergencies or if the Legacy office has received a minimum of 24 hours notice.
  • If the instructor is absent due to professional obligations or unforeseen circumstances, a substitute instructor at a higher Tier Level will be provided, if available.
  • If a substituteis not available and the lesson does not take place, the student will not be responsible for paying for the lesson.

Refunds

  • No refunds will be granted for registration fees.
  • One time Deposits will be refunded if there are no outstanding invoices on file with the accounting department.

Holidays & Institutional Cancellations

  • Lessons will be canceled for national holidays. Please visit the Legacy Calendar for details.
  • Lessons may be canceled without notice due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Cancellations due to holidays, inclement weather, or emergency situations will not be made up, nor billed for.

Family/Guests

  • Parents of students are encouraged to be highly involved in their child's artistic progress and at any time we encourage our parents to ask the instructor for a review of the student’s progress
  • All parents and guests are invited to remain in the hallway and make use of the provided seating during a lesson.

Code of Conduct

  • All students and instructors are expected to treat one another with kindness, respect, and honesty.
  • All students are entitled to an environment that is conducive to creativity and learning.
  • Legacy of the Arts reserves the right to dismiss any student due to disorderly conduct, frequent absences or tardiness, significant lack of progress or dedication, or due to failure to pay tuition or other fees due.
  • Drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, and firearms are prohibited on campus.

Safety & Security

  • For the student's safety, there will be no locks on the individual studio doors and there will be an unobstructed window on each studio door.
  • We invite all guests to watch their student’s lesson through the window on the corresponding studio door.
